The Mathematics Of Numero Uno – The Magic Of 1

In continuing our series on the magic of 1, we resume with this lovely small piece of useless information.

A meter is the distance travelled by light in 1/299,792,458 of a second. A second is also used or rather used to be defined as 1/86,400th of the time taken for Earth to rotate however it is now defined by the rather peculiar measurement for the time taken for one atom of Caesium-133 to vibrate.

Which if you’re curious is 9,192,631,770 times.

The number one is not accepted as a prime number, so it is the only exception to the definition of a prime number as any number that is only divisible by itself and one. Curiously the number one can be written using all ten single digit numbers once each – for example – 148/296 + 35/70 = 1.

In the olde Greek times, the ancients considered one to not just be a number but also the unity from which all other numbers arose as seen in –

111,111,111 multiplied by 111,111,111 = 12345678987654321

I also did a bunch of articles on unicorns which you will be seeing updated soon.

Thanks for reading.
